On a path of independent mental health recovery?
Get skills in the story-arts. Learn about illustration, autobiographical creative writing, filmmaking, comedy, songwriting, public speaking and being an artist. Explore easy performance skills so you can tell your story to others, for life.
Or just have some fun.
where on earth are you?
Discovery Club sessions explore story-artforms in a fun 'right-brain' learning environment (think pictures, unlined paper, ink) No experience needed.. but a sense of humour will help. Classes are for people who identify with mental illness/recovery, family members and non-disclosers are also welcome.

Heidi Everett is a qualified illustrator, award-winning songwriter and well known public speaker, passionate about changing the personal experience of the public mental health system. Heidi initiated Discovery Club as a practical response to the big change in our mental health recovery system. The NDIS roll-out meant a devastating loss of gathering spaces for people with mental health issues. We lost our safe spaces, art studios, drop-in's, adventure trips and most importantly, often our only connection to a social life.
Discovery Club is not art therapy. These sessions are run by Heidi and other professional practicing artists, aiming to teach real skills. We want you to find your voice and maybe be inspired to take up an artform or two. Having fun with other people who 'get' mental ill-health and recovery is pretty awesome. Sessions are usually free.
