"On behalf of the Brainwaves team I wish to congratulate you on a fantastic Schizy Week Jam at Northcote Social Club. We view this as an important celebration of difference, community awareness, hope and stigma busting.
In a social climate in which the voices of those experiencing psychiatric/ mental health difficulties (or however each individual wishes to express their difference) are often marginalised, unheard and stigmatised, an event such as this is really important in the Melbourne community.
Heidi informed me that she started Schizy Week Jam in response to a poor schizophrenia awareness campaign some years ago - and I congratulate her. Hopefully the cumulative work of artists/ activists such as (this) and the groundswell of community based initiatives such as Brainwaves radio program will over time reverse the silence surrounding mental health sufferers and lead to an inclusive, accepting society in which all members are valued equally. Brainwaves looks forward to the possibility of working with Heidi and other members of the community around Schizophrenia Awareness Week in the future and commends the high standard of performance, the heart and soul which were in evidence aplenty at Northcote Social Club"

"Thank you so much for organising such an amazing exhibition. I loved seeing my work up and my family had such a nice time. The speeches were great and the music and food.
Thank you so much for your hard work you both are true stars. If you ever need help with any projects or just want to stay in touch please do keep in touch and let me know of any happenings you organise. That's great people are asking about schizophrenia the more understanding we can get out there the less stigma my disease has. Thank you so much for being at the gallery today my parents mentioned what a lovely person you are (Helen)"

"Thank you so much for inviting me to play with you, and inviting MMGC to be part of Schizy Week Jam today. I really loved the gig! I thought there was such a sense of community in the room.
I also loved presenting the choir at the gig. I felt like people responded well and the choir’s music and soul felt like a good fit with the day.
Please pass on my hugest thanks to your whole team of people who worked with you to make SWJ, the exhibition and the opportunity to talk to broader audiences through the media happen"
Phil Heuzenroeder (Melbourne Mass Gospel Choir director)
